WrestleMania 38 is less than a week away, and the big show will once again be a two night event this year. There’s no telling who might show up at WWE’s biggest show of the year, and Gable Steveson has already stated that he will be at WrestleMania.
There’s a lot of hype surrounding Steveson at the moment, and Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there are people in WWE who have suggested the idea of Gable Steveson squashing Omos on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
“You don’t know how many people, including those in the company, have suggested or talked about having Steveson debut at Mania and just slam and pin Omos in 20 seconds to get his career going.”
Even though the idea for the squash match has reportedly been pitched it is not currently in the plans. Omos is expected to face off against Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania if Lashley can get cleared for the event.
One way or another it looks like WWE has high hopes for Gable Steveson as it’s also rumored that he’s expected to join the Raw brand sooner than later and receive a push. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
