The WWE roster has lost a number of Superstars this year due to releases, and it appears that another name is on their way out. It was reported weeks ago that Adam Cole’s contract was set to expire and that WWE officials were trying to negotiate a new deal with the former NXT Champion.
Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast recently reported that for the longest time people in WWE were anticipating that Cole would sign a new deal with the company. However, something has changed and now the expectation is that Cole will not be signing a new deal as he plans to exit the company.
Zarian also noted that Adam Cole’s meeting with Vince McMahon at SmackDown a few weeks ago went well, and the conversation was said to have been positive. It’s not known what’s changed.
It’s believed that Adam Cole’s contract is set to expire on Friday, so after that he will be free to talk to other wrestling companies. Stay tuned for more updates on Cole’s status as they become available.
