Last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown was action packed and during the show Apollo Crews faced off against Johnny Gargano in a singles match.
At one point during the match Johnny Gargano hit Apollo Crews with the backstabber, and Crews immediately started favoring his left side. Crews managed to pick up the win when he rolled Gargano up, but he appeared to be in pain as he exited the ring.
Bryan Alvarez shared an update on Apollo Crews recently on Wrestling Observer Radio, and he noted that Crews suffered an injury during the match, although specifics regarding the injury are unknown at this point.
“Apollo Crews, I checked on that one, he is also hurt…he took the backcracker and I don’t know if it’s his pec or his shoulder or what but he’s hurt. So he was injured in that match and what it is we don’t know yet. But that’s now three in seven days.”
Multiple WWE stars have been injured recently as PWInsider recently reported that Dakota Kai has been diagnosed with a concussion. This week on Raw, JD McDonagh slammed his head into the announce table after he hit a springboard moonsault off the middle rope to the outside. Following the show McDonagh confirmed that he punctured his lung and suffered broken ribs.
