We previously reported that Cody Rhodes and Pentagon Jr. faced each other at the most recent All Pro Wrestling show. Dave Meltzer reports in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Pentagon did the show for free. All he wanted was his merchandise sales.

Meltzer reports that AAA and Pentagon Jr. had initially booked this appearance together before Penta left the Mexican wrestling promotion. The entire fee for the show was paid in advance to AAA. When Penta left the organization it was part of the separation that Penta had been paid in full from AAA.

Pentagon Jr. has been under somewhat of an attack regarding the use of his name and his own future in professional wrestling under his current gimmick and likeness.

In reality, Penta hadn’t been paid for the All Pro Wrestling show yet. Instead of negotiating a new agreement, Pentagon Jr. did the show without asking for any money for his match. As stated above, he only wanted to be able to sell his merchandise.

This classy move went a long way to establishing good faith with All Pro Wrestling on Penta’s behalf. APW’s promoter ended up telling Penta that it was not only a pleasure to work with him, but he wants to work with him again whenever the two can find coinciding open dates on the calendar.
