Ronda Rousey officially made her WWE in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34 when she teamed up with Kurt Angle to defeat Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in a mixed tag team match.
Sunday night at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, Ronda Rousey wrestled her first singles match when she challenged Nia Jax for the Raw Women’s Championship.
Nia Jax made the challenge a few weeks ago at the NBCUniversal Upfront presentation, and Rousey accepted.
In the weeks leading up to the match, Nia Jax taunted Ronda Rousey by saying that she’s not ready, and Rousey fired back by getting physical with Jax on Raw.
As Nia Jax made her entrance she looked very confident on Sunday night, and Ronda got a big pop from the Chicago crowd when she was introduced.
Nia Jax dominated Rousey early on in the match as the crowd chanted Rousey’s name.
Jax hit some big power moves and tried to pin Ronda Rousey several times, but Nia started to look frustrated as Rousey continued to kick out.
Eventually Rousey got the momentum on her side when she went to the top rope and hit a crossbody, but Nia kicked out. The crowd continued to chant for Rousey as she hulked up then hit Jax with a series of strikes and a knee to the face.
Rousey then hit Nia Jax with a Judo throw but Nia kicked out.
Ronda Rousey tried to lock in the armbar, but Alexa Blis hit her in the head with the Money in the Bank briefcase, then she hit Nia.
Bliss threw Rousey out of the ring and then set her sights on Nia Jax as the crowd went wild.
Alexa stepped outside the ring and hit Rousey with the briefcase once again, then got back in the ring and beat Nia down with the briefcase before telling the referee she wanted to cash in.
Nia looked heartbroken as the bell rang.
Bliss hit a DDT on Nia then slammed her arm on the mat. Alexa Bliss then went to the top for Twisted Bliss and pinned Nia Jax to become the new Raw Women’s Champion.
Alexa Bliss is now a five time Women’s Champion.
