Alberto Del Rio quickly rose to fame in WWE shortly after he joined the company, but it’s been no big secret that he’s run into some trouble over the last few years.
Now News 4 San Antonio is reporting that the former WWE Champion has been formally indicted in a kidnapping and sexual assault case.
On Friday Del Rio, real name Jose Rodriguez Chucuan, was indicted by a grand jury on one count of kidnapping and four counts of sexual assault, according to the Bexar County District Attorney’s office.
Back in May, Alberto Del Rio was arrested after assaulting a woman who he accused of infidelity.
According to the arrest report he tied her up with boxing straps and sexually assaulted her for hours. He also allegedly threatened to take her son and “drop him in the middle of the road somewhere.”
PWInsider notes that he could be facing up to 20 years in prison.
