According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AJ Styles is no longer under contract with ROH or NJPW. That means according to the report AJ Styles is a free agent and he can work anywhere.
There’s been a lot of talk among fans this year about AJ Styles possibly working with WWE. Styles has said that he would consider it if he was offered the right deal. Of course there are always rumors going around saying WWE is interested in signing Styles. However those rumors seem a lot more credible nowadays considering WWE signed Samoa Joe this year, they’re working with James Storm and Gunner as well as Austin Aries were confirmed to be at the recent NXT tapings.
It certainly seems that WWE is much more open to bringing ex TNA talent into the NXT fold at the moment. It remains to be seen if WWE will make a play for AJ Styles but it’s worth noting that it was last reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that as of November 9th there hadn’t been any recent contact between the two parties.
