Don’t let this story get twisted because Rusev is still happily married to Lana… the real Lana. Even though on WWE television recently The Bulgarian Brute has been led to the ring by another force on the microphone in Aiden English and apparently English is taking that role seriously.

Aiden English used to have a distinguished Opera singer gimmick in NXT before they paired him up with Simon Gotch to form the Vaudevillains. The team was actually quite successful in NXT and they even picked up the top tag team prize in WWE’s developmental territory before jumping to the main roster.

But now that Simon Gotch is off exploring other endeavors since his WWE release, Aiden English needed something else to do and WWE gave him his old gimmick once more. Now he has a brand new song to sing because it’s Rusev Day, every day.

The Maestro of Mayhem recently got on the microphone in Peru and proclaimed himself as the “New Lana” which yes, does present some interesting visuals. But let’s keep this PG here because WWE is PG-TV after all. To be fair, the crowd was chanting Lana in his general direction and were making quite a scene out of it all.

Aiden English really is great ringside assistance and can take a bump as well which helps things in that regard. Rusev can perform very well in the ring but he still might need someone to help him out a little bit on the microphone and WWE has done an excellent job finding people to get heat for him so far.

English and Rusev are getting a ton of heat as well which really helps Rusev get over as a heel because his entire Rusev Day gimmick is just so darn entertaining. I just wonder if Aiden English is going to pop up on Total Divas anytime soon to challenge Lana for her spot on that show as well.
