They don’t call Nakamura a Wrestling Rock Star for no reason. In a surprising decision Shinsuke Nakamura decided to sing a portion of his promo in WWE Champion Jinder Mahal’s face during the SmackDown Live before SummerSlam.

Jinder Mahal had been going on about Indian Independence Day for his entire segment. It was actually a pretty cool scene because there was music and dancing to celebrate not only India’s independence, but also to bask in the awesomeness of The Modern Day Maharaja.

But when Shinsuke Nakamura came down to interrupt the portion of Mahal’s promo as he spoke to his people in Punjabi things got real.

As we noted in our full results and analysis from the show, the crowd was fully behind Nakamura and seemed to boo India just like they were supposed to.

Nakamura looked Jinder Mahal up and down and delivered a short promo as he said: “Yeah, today in India it is Indian Independence Day. However, today in Japan it is a day we commemorate those who have died in wars and pray for peace. And Sunday in America at SummerSlam it will be the day you lose the WWE Title!” Then Nakamura took a moment and geared up for something as he sang “to meeee!”

The crowd was fully behind Nakamura and really wanted to see some Strong Style in action, but they’d settle for his superb signing abilities instead. They don’t call Nakamura “The Artist” for nothing.

One person who didn’t appreciate Shinsuke’s sing-song promo was Aiden English who is a man with a gimmick built around his vocal abilities.

Nakamura was short and sweet with his response as he mentioned all cultures have music, art and wrestling. Obviously Aiden English doesn’t get anything that he doesn’t do himself.

Although Nakamura didn’t address English’s challenge it certainly isn’t because he’s not up for the fight. After all, The King Of Strong Style has some pretty big fish to fry in Brooklyn. After SummerSlam is over he might find some time for a singing competition with the Drama King.
