Fans have seen a number of familiar faces join AEW over the last few years, but we’ve reached a point where it seems that some deals are either expired, or on the verge of expiring.
Dave Meltzer recently discussed Brian Cage’s status on Wrestling Observer Radio, and he noted that Cage could be finishing up with All Elite Wrestling as his current deal has expired.
“Brian Cage apparently is finishing up. That’s what I hear, that he’s finishing up unless they sign him to a new deal. If they do, then he’s not finishing up. His deal has expired, but he’s agreed to do business and drop the belts on the way out. If in fact he doesn’t sign.”
Cage is currently set to defend the ROH Six Man Tag Team Championship with Kaun and Toa Liona against AR Fox, Blake Christian, and Metalik at ROH Supercard of Honor on March 31. If a new deal isn’t reached it looks like this could potentially be his last appearance for AEW and/or ROH.
Fightful reported a few weeks ago that WWE is interested in possibly having a conversation with Brian Cage if he becomes a free agent, so it will be interesting to see where things go from here. Stay tuned for updates.
