At the moment there are a number of AEW stars who aren’t being used. Ricky Starks has been off TV for some time now, and there’s been a lot of talk regarding where he currently stands with AEW.
Ibou of WrestlePurists and SelfMadePW recently shared an update on Ricky Starks’ status and it was noted that Starks has asked for his release from All Elite Wrestling, but as of right now Tony Khan is not planning to release him.
“At the end of the day, things happened to where he’s on the outs with AEW right now. It is what it is. There’s a lot of things, most of it will never be reported. But ultimately there’s a falling out there and it is what it is. He’s asked for a release, Tony won’t give it to him, and he’s just going to wait the rest of his deal. He’s going to stay relevant by working indy dates and good for him, I’m happy for him. That’s just gonna be the situation in the meantime.”
Ricky Starks first debuted with AEW in June of 2020 when he answered Cody Rhodes’ open challenge for the TNT Championship during an episode of Dynamite. He last competed inside an AEW ring on the March 30th, 2024 episode of Collision when he teamed with Big Bill to take on Top Flight.
Stay tuned for more updates on Ricky Starks’s status as they become available.
