Saturday night was a big night for professional wrestling as AAA Triplemania aired live from Tijuana. AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo defended his title against Kenny Omega, and before the match Don Callis appeared, but he was kicked out by Konnan.
Bryan Alvarez of F4Wonline.com is reporting that Kenny Omega was later confronted by Don Callis at the post-show press conference which led to an angle where Konosuke Takeshita attacked Kenny Omega. A fan then got involved and legitimately attacked Don Callis injuring his neck and ankle.
“Everything was an angle up to that point, but then a fan who was apparently upset about what Don had said to Kenny jumped Don from behind, ripped his suit, concussed his eardrum and busted open his mouth while he was trying to choke out Don from behind,” Alvarez said. “ Don was screaming profanities at the fan before he was pulled off, and was said to be livid afterwards.”
It was reiterated that this is “absolutely not a work” and that Don Callis would be heading to San Diego for medical attention. Stay tuned for more updates on the condition of Don Callis as they become available.
