Over the last few years fans have seen many familiar faces make their way to AEW and in late 2019 WWE Hall of Famer Vickie Guerrero started making appearances for the company. Vickie went on to work as a manager for Nyla Rose, but it was reported recently that Vickie and AEW have decided not to renew her contract.

Vickie Guerrero recently spoke to Denise Salcedo and she confirmed that her deal with AEW is up in July. According to Vickie she’s moving on to work on an unannounced TV project, and she will also be doing some work for HSN in addition to writing a book. While talking about her reasons for leaving she said that AEW has been good to her, but she just felt that it was time to go somewhere else.

“AEW’s been good with me. I loved my time there. I was there for three years. I just want more in life. My character wasn’t progressed for the three years, and opportunities weren’t given. I just felt like, for me, as a professional decision, I needed to go somewhere else where I’m able to be the character that I want to be and to be appreciated for the work that I can present inside the ring.

Even though I’m gonna miss managing Nyla and Marina, three years is good. I tried it, I bought the t-shirt, I get to say I was there, and I’m ready to move on and bet on myself. So with the way doors have opened, I’m very grateful, and I know that AEW’s gonna be very successful, and they’re gonna do great stuff in the future. I just want to take a different road.”

It seems unlikely that we’ll be seeing any more appearances from Vickie Guerrero on AEW programming before her contract expires as she recently confirmed that the company requested for her to stay home.
