Multiple wrestlers have parted ways with WWE this year and a number of them have gone on to sign with All Elite Wrestling. Names like The New Day (now The New Level) and The Motor City Machine Guns have debuted with AEW in recent months, and now it seems that another former champion is set to join the roster.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Ilja Dragunov has officially signed a contract with AEW. The expectation is that the former United States Champion will be starting with the company very soon.
Ilja Dragunov first signed with WWE back in 2019 and throughout his run with the company he managed to become a one time NXT United Kingdom Champion, a one time NXT Champion and a one time United States Champion.
Back in August, Ilja Dragunov officially wrapped up his run with WWE as it was reported that his contract expired, and he opted not to sign a new deal with the company. Dragunov’s arrival in AEW has been rumored for weeks, and now it looks like we’ll be seeing him sooner than later.
