This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite aired live from the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, ME and the event featured some big matches as well as a major announcement.
During a backstage segment on Dynamite, Willow Nightingale said that winning the TBS Championship was one of the greatest moments of her career. She also mentioned how she’s won the Owen Hart Cup before, and was part of the first ever AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions.
She then went on to announce that she suffered a shoulder injury during her title match with Red Velvet last week. She said that she wants to face Alex Windsor at Double or Nothing, win the Owen Hart Cup and go on the become the new AEW Women’s Champion.
Nightingale then announced that she has to withdraw from the Owen Hart Cup, and that she has to vacate the TBS Championship. Willow told the fans that she will will be back, she doesn’t know when, but she’s coming right back to the top when she returns. She thanked everyone as she left the TBS Championship in the locker room and walked off.
