A few months ago it was announced that AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa was sidelined due to injury, and in her absence Toni Storm was crowned interim champion. Saturday night at Full Gear, Toni Storm defended the interim AEW Women’s Championship against Jamie Hayter and Hayter picked up the victory.

This week on Dynamite, Renee Paquette announced that due to the extent of Thunder Rosa’s injuries AEW and Thunder Rosa reached a mutual agreement.

Renee then said that AEW management has been forced to ask Thunder Rosa to relinquish the AEW Women’s Championship, and Rosa was willing to step aside. She then officially announced the new AEW Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter and Hayter made her entrance with Britt Baker and Rebel.

Hayter tried to speak, but Britt Baker cut her off then got on the mic and said that they were never even considering the word interim for Hayter’s title reign. Baker handed the mic back to Renee then Baker and Hayter walked to the ring for their match against Willow Nightingale & Skye Blue and Tay Melo & Anna Jay.

Stay tuned for updates.
