We’re less than two weeks away from SummerSlam, and this week several matches were added to the card. It was announced that Dolph Ziggler is set to face The Miz, but it was later reported that the match is a “red herring.”
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bill Goldberg is returning to face Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam.
The idea is that when Dolph Ziggler superkicked Shawn Michaels he disrespected the legends, and would have the locker room against him, prompting Goldberg to return. Ziggler has been taking shots at Goldberg in his promos on WWE programming as of late.
There’s also speculation that Goldberg’s match is a Paul Heyman move, as Goldberg is one of the people Heyman was put in charge of after he returned to the company.
