Sami Zayn appeared in a new live Q&A session called Electric Chair on Raw this week, and he told the fans in attendance that they could ask him about anything, even AEW.
PWInsider is reporting that several sources claimed Sami Zayn’s AEW line was not in the script for Raw, and was likely something that Sami, who pitches his own verbiage, improvised.
There’s no word at this point on how WWE officials reacted to the AEW name-drop on Raw, but it’s being said that if they really had a problem with it they could have used the 15 second delay on Raw to bleep it out.
There seem to be conflicting reports in regards to whether or not that line was scripted, as Bryan Alvarez mentioned on Wrestling Observer Radio that he was told it wasn’t scripted, while Dave Meltzer noted that he was told it was in the script.
As noted, WWE ended up editing the line out of the Electric Chair segment clip on their YouTube channel.
