Last month Kenny Omega dropped the IWGP Heavyweight Championship during the main event of Wrestle Kingdom 13, and then he announced that he would be leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling.
Since then everyone’s been wondering where Kenny will end up, and a few days ago Omega officially became a free agent.
At the end of the night, Conrad Thompson and Alex Marvez took the stage, then Conrad said the rumor and innuendo is that there’s one more announcement.
Kenny Omega then made his entrance.
Omega apologized for making the fans wait, and said he didn’t officially sign with AEW until this morning, but he’s now a full time member of the roster.
Kenny Omega said that the cast and crew of AEW will show the fans how they plan to change the world, then Chris Jericho’s music hit. Jericho made his entrance to a big pop from the crowd.
Jericho and Omega came face to face and Jericho attacked Omega. They were quickly separated as the fans went wild.
Chris Jericho was brought the back, and Kenny Omega put his hat on then stepped up to the podium.
Kenny then said “goodbye and goodnight, bang” as the show came to an end.
