Sami Zayn had been on a roll in 2018, feuding with top stars such as Daniel Bryan, Shane McMahon and Bobby Lashley, but Zayn underwent surgery in June to repair a torn rotator cuff on the right side of his body. Now Zayn is undergoing surgery again to repair the left side, and he shared a selfie before the operation.

It doesn’t look like fans will be seeing Sami Zayn back in the ring anytime soon, but he told WWE.com back in June that he hopes to return in time for WrestleMania 35.
“That’s really not a decision that’s up to me. Because of the timeline, I’d love to be in the mix for WrestleMania season; that’s the most exciting time of the year for all of us. I think timeline wise, I should be ready in time for WrestleMania, so fingers crossed.”
