Big Cass faced off against Daniel Bryan on Sunday at Money in the Bank, and he ended up losing to Bryan once again. Cass won’t be getting his shot at redemption, because the company announced today that he’s been released from his contract. WWE posted the following on WWE.com:

“Big Cass released

WWE has come to terms on the release of William Morrissey (Big Cass).”

It’s worth noting that WWE did not wish Big Cass well in his future endeavors as they often do when releasing talents.

Cass signed a developmental contract with WWE in 2011, and went on to form a tag team with Enzo Amore in NXT in 2013.

Enzo Amore and Big Cass were called up to the main roster on the Raw after WrestleMania 32, but their partnership ended in 2017 when Cass turned on Enzo.

They ended up blowing off their feud in a street fight the night after SummerSlam, but Cass tore his ACL in the process.

Cass returned from injury during the 2018 Superstar Shake-Up and immediately entered a feud with Daniel Bryan.

Bryan definitively won their feud when he made Cass tap out at Backlash and at Money in the Bank.
