Last year at WrestleMania 33, Austin Aries and Neville battled for the Cruiserweight Championship, and a few weeks later Austin Aries parted ways with WWE.
In the months that followed, Neville continuously declared that he was the King of the Cruiserweights, but eventually the king relinquished his crown and left WWE.
Neville is still technically under WWE contract, and it doesn’t look like the company has any interest in releasing him from his deal, but there hasn’t been much in the way of progress in regards to his potential return.
Austin Aries has found a lot of success since leaving WWE, and he recently unified the Impact World Championship, and Impact Grand Championship.
Aries recently reflected on his match with Neville from Extreme Rules last year, and he offered to face Neville once again when he’s done serving his time.
