It’s not that a pro wrestler needs a huge pyro display on their way to the ring to be successful but it would be hard to argue that it doesn’t help get the crowd going. After seeing all of the pyrotechnics and fireworks at the Greatest Royal Rumble it kind of looks like WWE might have blown their entire budget on special effects at their Saudi Arabian show. But with WWE cutting back on their pyro in the last year we can take a look at some of WWE’s most popular entrances with and without the grand display of booming assistance thanks to Brian The Guppie.

One person who really deserves pyro is Brock Lesnar. After all, it’s not like he shows up all that often so WWE might as well do something special for the Beast Incarnate when he has to work.
But WWE seemed to take away Lesnar’s pyro just like the rest of the roster. As you watch both versions of his entrance there’s not much of a difference. But the pyro really helps add the illusion of power to Brock Lesnar when he throws his arms down.

The Hardys’ pyro is unique and helps give a special little extra something to their entrance for sure. But alas, their entrance was another victim of WWE cutting back on their pyro as well.
As you can see the camera crew keeps their cues pretty much the same with or without the pryo, but those fireworks really give an extra oomph to Matt and Jeff’s gestures during their entrance.
Perhaps WWE will start using pyro on a regular basis from now on once again. I can remember a day when the opening segment of Raw rivaled some 4th Of July fireworks displays. But it looks like the cost-cutting measure will continue on a weekly basis.
But as long as WWE keeps the pyro in their back pocket so they can pull it out for special occasions it’s still good to see it every now and then.
