Rey Mysterio has some big things going on at the moment, but unfortunately Rey hit a major setback over the weekend. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion was competing in a tag team match which saw him team up with Flip Gordon to take on Joey Mercury and Caleb Konley, and he reportedly suffered an arm injury during the match.
It’s feared that Mysterio may have suffered a bicep tear, but at this point that’s not confirmed. PWInsider is reporting that Rey is scheduled to undergo testing today to determine the severity of the injury.
After the match it was said that Mysterio pretty much rushed to leave the building, but he wasn’t holding his arm in a way that would have made it obvious he was dealing with an injury.
It’s also being reported that Rey Mysterio was originally set to meet with Triple H in Stamford, CT prior to the NEW event where he was injured. However, the meeting was postponed as Triple H had to fly to Saudi Arabia to finalize plans which will see the company produce live events in the country.
Mysterio is still currently being advertised for a match with Jushin “Thunder” Liger at the NJPW Strong Style Evolved event later this month, but it appears that match is up in the air along with his WWE future depending on the results of his upcoming tests.
