Tonight’s WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view will be extra special because it’s set to feature the first ever women’s Royal Rumble match. Former WWE Divas Champion Paige was originally confirmed for the match, but unfortunately she was later pulled due to injury. Paige recently took to Twitter to say that she’s sad she won’t be able to compete, but she’ll still be supporting the women who are in the match.
Happy #RoyalRumble day. Wanna wish every single lady who is participating to absolutely kill it. I’m sad I can’t be part of it but I’ll be there supporting all of you.. well.. like 2 of you. #Absolution @WWE_MandyRose @SonyaDevilleWWE @WWE

Fans are expecting to see some surprise entrants in both the women’s Royal Rumble, and men’s Royal Rumble matches.
During an interview with The Wrestling Estate, former ECW World Champion Tommy Dreamer was asked if he’ll be entering the Royal Rumble, and he said that he’ll show up if he gets the call.
“I will do anything for any wrestling company. I just went to Impact because Scott D’Amore and Don Callis called me up and said Sonjay Dutt is hurt. He can’t fly, and I need your help. That’s all he had to say. We didn’t even talk money, we didn’t talk anything. He was a friend that needed help. I said cool, just give me a plane ticket. We discussed everything after. Same thing for WWE. If WWE ever needs my help, I’ll help them out. They’ve had so many guys from House of Hardcore. If they think it will be a great surprise for Philadelphia, then I’ll be there. If not, then I’ll be very, very happy just being me.”
