WrestleMania 33 was an interesting event for The Undertaker. He lost his second WrestleMania match in his career, and he lost to Roman Reigns. After the match was over it seemed that Taker left the door open for retirement, but he has never officially announced that he’s done with in-ring competition.
With WrestleMania season coming quickly, there’s been a lot of speculation regarding what WWE could have in store for him. It was recently reported that there’s been talk backstage of Taker returning the ring, and it appears that the talks are heating up.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the two top matches for WrestleMania 34 are Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns and The Undertaker vs. John Cena. According to the report unless Taker changes his mind, a match with Cena is the current plan.
The Undertaker and John Cena are both being advertised for the upcoming 25th anniversary episode of Monday Night Raw in a few weeks, so it’s possible that WWE will be looking to shoot an angle to kick off the feud at the big event.
Cena vs. Taker at WrestleMania has become somewhat of a dream match over the last few years as both stars have been kept away from each other for quite some time.
