A lot of fans remember the Attitude Era fondly for a wide array of reasons. But for some, their favorite part was The Brood’s entrance. As they emerged from a fiery pit leaving an unknown location we can only assume resembles a gothic lair of some kind Edge, Christian, and Gangrel captivated audiences with their characters and performance in the ring.
Many fans often wonder what happened to some of their favorite Superstars from the past who might not be enjoying too much limelight. If Gangrel was one of your favorites, I assure you he’s doing just fine.
Sportskeeda recently had the opportunity to speak to The Vampire Warrior about a few interesting subjects from his canceled run in WWE’s ECW to what he’s been up to as he prepares to open his wrestling school, Gangrel’s Wrestling Asylum. The former Brood Member also revealed why he doesn’t think he’ll ever be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame.
“The Brood will make it into the Hall of Fame before I ever do; The Brood’s a possibility. My name issues… I own the name, so. [WWE] won’t do anything with the Gangrel name, period. Nothing.”
But Gangrel doesn’t seem bitter in the slightest because he’s still living his dream as he continues adding to his 30-year career in the pro wrestling business.
“[Edge and Christian] deserve it; they put their time in, and they worked hard. It’s alright. What people don’t realize is that I’m blessed. I’m still wrestling. I’ve been wrestling for 30 years this past September; it’s been 30 years, and I wrestle every week up to three times a week.”
“I’m in a wrestling ring 5 to 6 times a week — so I’m doing what I love; the world could be passing me by […] I don’t even know. As long as I’m putting my boots on and going out there doing what I love — the whole rest of the world I don’t know what’s going on. I’m very, very blessed”
