Glenn Jacobs has had one of the most impressive runs in WWE history as he joined the company back in the 90s and later made his debut as Kane in 1997. Kane immediately became one of the top stars in WWE as he feuded with his brother The Undertaker, and he’s been a mainstay on WWE programming ever since.
But times are changing for the man behind the mask, and he’s been taking time away from WWE so that he can work on other things. Right now his primary focus is becoming the next mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, and he’s been campaigning over the last few months.
If Glenn Jacobs does win the election, that means it’s even less likely that we’ll be seeing Kane return in the near future. However, CBS Local Sports recently asked the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion if he’s retired, and he’s not counting out a return at some point.
“We have a saying in the WWE: never say never,” Kane said. “So, I can’t answer that question. (laughs)”
Even though Kane hasn’t appeared on WWE programming in a while, he still watches when he can, and he said that he’s really happy to see that Braun Strowman is doing so well.
“I catch a little most Mondays. I’m really happy to see Braun Strowman. People ask me who reminds me of me, and it’s probably him. So, I’m really happy to see him doing so well. I think WWE is in very good hands with — they’re not even the younger generation anymore — but with the people that are there now carrying the flag for them.”
