The internet has been going wild discussing Brock Lesnar’s future, and it’s been rumored that The Beast Incarnate could be returning to UFC to fight inside the octagon once again. On Wednesday reports surfaced online via @TalkMMA claiming that Brock had re-entered the USADA testing pool, and that he was in talks to fight at a UFC event later this year.
However, UFC Vice President of Athlete Health and Performance Jeff Novitzky told MMAjunkie there is “zero truth” to those rumors.
“(Lesnar) is not currently enrolled in the USADA testing pool, nor has there been any inquiry on his part to do so,” Novitzky said.
If Brock Lesnar does want to return to active competition in UFC, the USADA administered anti-doping policy states that he “must tell the UFC, in writing, that they want to start competing again. After notifying the UFC, they need to be available for testing for at least six months before returning to competition.”
Brock Lesnar returned to MMA last summer when he defeated Mark Hunt at UFC 200. His victory was later overturned when it was discovered that he had failed two tests for using the estrogen blocker clomiphene, and he was suspended for one year.
If Brock Lesnar does indeed want to return to UFC, he must inform the promotion of his intentions, and according to Jeff Novitzky he has yet to do that.
