When you are on the shelf due to injury (or creative just doesn’t have anything for you right now), you’ve got time on your hands. Rusev is currently recuperating from an injury and he was expected back any time now. But it doesn’t look like he’s going to be back as soon as fans of the Bulgarian Brute would have hoped.

Rusev laid down a challenge to Shane McMahon ordering the SmackDown Live authority figure to give him a shot at the WWE World Championship at Money In The Bank. But since his former partner and fellow foreign heel Jinder Mahal swooped in and not only became India’s hero but the top title holder on SmackDown any plans for Rusev to come back in a title program were nixed. If only WWE could open a huge online shop in Bulgaria.

Fans might see Handsome Rusev return sooner than later because he was supposed to be back soon anyway, but for now he’s got time to kill. There are rumors floating around saying Rusev might be crushing Shane McMahon very soon. So that is something to look forward to.

But while Rusev is waiting for a call from WWE telling him who he needs to crush next he’s enjoying his time doing something else he loves: Harry Potter and chill.

Rusev is currently running through the entire Harry Potter franchise by reading each book and then watching the corresponding movie afterwards. It sounds like a great project to be honest, if only we had the time we would totally do the same thing. But Rusev looks like he has all the time in the world right now as his wife Lana is back on television leaving him to his own devices.

He’s gotten through three books at this point so he’s still got a ways to go. We just wonder if Rusev’s going to stop reading Deathly Hallows half-way through to watch the seventh movie and then read the rest after that. Then again, he could always read the entire book to watch the seventh and eighth movies in a row and wonder why Harry and Hermione didn’t hook up in that tent in the woods.

Enjoy your time in Hogwarts, Rusev. Because we’re sure you’ll be back in the ring crushing in no time.
