During the NXT tapings at Full Sail University on Wednesday night the new number 1 contender for the NXT Championship was determined and the title match for TakeOver: Chicago was also announced.

Hideo Itami faced off against Roderick Strong and the match was nothing short of outstanding. Each guy was vying for that brass ring and they went for it hard. Itami has a lot of catching up to do if he’s going to make his way to the top of NXT and eventually the main roster. Some ridiculous injuries have kept him in developmental much longer than he should have been
This match was for the main event spot against Bobby Roode at NXT TakeOver: Chicago. The match was incredible and the crowd was left with a ton of respect for both of these great workers.
Hideo Itami ended up going over and after the match, he and Roderick Strong embraced. Following a standing ovation from the crowd for an amazing contest, Roderick Strong was left alone in the ring when he was ambushed by SANity.
Looks like SANity has a new target now that Tye Dillinger has been called up to the main roster.
