Night one of the WWE Superstar Shake-up was exciting for fans of Raw, because the red brand gained several top guys who made the jump from SmackDown Live. Stars such as Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose, The Miz, Maryse, Bray Wyatt, Mickie James, Alexa Bliss and more made the switch to Raw on Monday, and tonight we’ll be seeing some Raw stars make the switch to SmackDown.

The Superstar Shake-up certainly shook things up on Monday, but the in-ring competitors weren’t the only ones who switched brands during night one. After WWE Monday Night Raw went off the air, it was announced that Byron Saxton will be joining the SmackDown Live commentary team, and David Otunga will be heading to Raw.
Byron Saxton was informed he’ll be moving after the show and according to Byron he was “shocked.” Saxton said he’s going to miss working with Michael Cole and Corey Graves, then he backtracked on the Corey Graves comment.
The former Raw commentator said that SmackDown Live is the land of opportunity, so he’s going to seize his opportunity. You can see what else Byron Saxton had to say about the switch in the video below.
Feels like a punishment to send Byron back to JBL who doesn’t grasp how to effectively be a Heel Announcer. Lawler and Heenan were the masters and now we’re just left with bullies in Layfield and Graves, neither of whom even carry any good will from having had stellar in-ring careers. These guys cop out and attack their co-workers instead of serving the story.
