Kurt Angle is a Pittsburgh native and he was spotted at the PPG Paints Arena on Tuesday. It just so happened that WWE SmackDown was being taped from the same arena, which got a lot of people talking.
PWInsider reports that Angle was backstage at the SmackDown taping this week because he was filming footage for an upcoming episode of WWE 24. Angle reportedly left the building before the taping even began.
Kurt Angle was announced as the headliner for the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame class weeks ago, but he has yet to appear in front of a live crowd.
It looks like WWE officials are holding off on doing anything major with Kurt Angle until after March 31st. The Olympic gold medalist has been saying that he hasn’t discussed plans for his in-ring return, and he recently revealed that Triple H told him it’s something they can talk about after his WWE Hall of Fame induction.
There’s certainly no shortage of talented stars that Kurt Angle could face in the WWE and Seth Rollins, AJ Styles and Roman Reigns are just a few of the names he’s brought up as potential opponents.
