If you’re here that means you’re likely a fan of pro wrestling and if you’re a fan of pro wrestling then you know that it’s not ballet. Wrestling isn’t for the weak at heart and from time to time wrestlers suffer injuries inside the ring. Unfortunately that’s exactly what happened to a NJPW star on Friday.
NJPW’s Tomoaki Honma is the latest star to suffer an injury inside the squared circle, and he suffered the injury during a six man tag team match which saw him team with Togi Makabe and Michael Elgin to take on Jado, Toru Yano and Tomohiro Ishii.
Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that Tomoaki Honma landed wrong after Jado hit him with a DDT during the match. Apparently his foot got caught in the ropes and after he landed he was unresponsive.
Doctors rushed to check on Tomoako Honma as soon as the spot happened and he was then placed on a stretcher and taken to the hospital.

People like to refer to wrestling as “fake” entertainment, but as you can see in the picture above, when something goes wrong the consequences are unfortunately all too real.
As of this writing the NJPW star’s current condition is unknown, but stay tuned for updates as more information becomes available on this story.
