It is safe to say that WWE fans should always expect the unexpected, because that is usually the mantra in place. However, there are some segments already announced for tonight’s Raw at the Rose Quarter in Portland, Oregon.
It was said last week that Goldberg would be on Raw to answer Brock Lesnar’s WrestleMania challenge. WWE is doing a smart thing by booking these guys on every other show and not letting them overlap. They need to keep them away from each other for as long as they can to build to the eventual blow-off.
However, since Goldberg is supposedly going to walk away from Fastlane with the Universal Title fans might get a swerve of sorts tonight.
It is highly possible that Goldberg will tease fans about reacting to Lesnar’s challenge and instead, go for Kevin Owens. If they decided to do this Goldberg could adopt the “been there, done that” strategy with Brock Lesnar and say that he wanted the Universal Title instead.
Goldberg will undoubtedly be in a salty mood considering the way the Super Bowl ended for his former team last night.
Brock Lesnar might have to prove himself worthy of another Goldberg match which could actually see Lesnar having to win a #1 contender match later on down the Road to WrestleMania. This is all speculation at this point, but it definitely sounds plausible.
Another segment that has been announced for tonight’s Raw is an update on Seth Rollins’ status. Although we have previously reported that Seth is set to be out at least eight weeks, which would cut it close for a Mania match against Triple H.
Tonight’s Raw will hopefully clear up some of the speculation surrounding the Architect’s status and probably give fans a better idea as to what they’re going to do with Samoa Joe in the meantime since he accomplished his primary objective in keeping Rollins away from The Game last week.
Sami Zayn’s path toward the United States Championship is set to continue tonight, as well. He scored a surprise victory against Chris Jericho last week, and his momentum is certainly growing toward that belt.
These two work very well together and their styles complement each other greatly. Factor in the element of Kevin Owens’ possible involvement as well as Sami and Kevin’s history with each other and this is a program earmarked for great matches.
Nia Jax has been dominating the women’s division since her debut, and while they have kept her away from the big women’s prize on the red team, her time is coming. Expect to see her continue her destructive ways seeing that it will most likely result with her being inserted into the Women’s Title picture by WrestleMania.
Braun Strowman’s next target is Roman Reigns since The Undertaker hasn’t showed up yet to challenge the Roman Empire. This feud will most likely result in a Fastlane encounter, but WWE should be careful while booking this program’s conclusion as they need to make both stars look formidable when all is said and done.
