It’s been rumored for weeks now that WWE is planning for Brock Lesnar to face Goldberg at Survivor Series. Paul Heyman issued a challenge to Goldberg this week on Raw, and the former WCW Champion will be returning to WWE next week to answer the challenge.
At this point, t’s pretty much a foregone conclusion that Goldberg and Lesnar will be facing off against each other, but it has yet to be officially confirmed by WWE.
This week on Talking Smack Renee Young asked Daniel Bryan how he felt about Raw signing Goldberg, and if SmackDown would be bringing in some more former stars. Bryan cracked a joke about the Attitude Era, then said maybe SmackDown would bring in some younger talent.
Bryan sarcastically said he was excited to see the match, then gave it a thumbs down. He then said he was just kidding, and the match will be awesome. He said that it will be on a co-branded show, indicating Survivor Series, but he doesn’t like that it’s Raw putting it together, and not SmackDown.
This week on SmackDown Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon proposed three different Survivor Series matches for the Survivor Series pay-per-view in November.
They proposed a traditional 5 on 5 Survivor Series match between SmackDown’s best male competitors, and Raw’s best male competitors. They also proposed the same match with female competitors.
Bryan also proposed a 5 on 5 tag team elimination match that would see SmackDown’s best tag teams face off against Raw’s best tag teams.
SmackDown’s authority figures are now waiting for Raw’s authority figures to answer the challenge.
