Monday Night Raw kicked off this week with a celebration for the new WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens.
Seth Rollins interrupted the celebration and attacked Owens, then Stephanie McMahon announced that she was suspending Rollins. Mick Foley vetoed her decision, and announced a WWE Universal Championship match for Clash of Champions featuring Kevin Owens defending against Seth Rollins.
Kevin Owens faced off against Sami Zayn in the main event of Raw, and Owens defeated Zayn. After Owens won the match Roman Reigns made his way to the ring to confront the Universal Champion.
General Manager Mick Foley interrupted and announced that Roman Reigns will face Kevin Owens next week on Raw, and if Reigns can beat Owens the title match at Clash of Champions will become a triple threat.
