sin cara

SmackDown moved to Tuesday nights this week and it was an action packed show from start to finish, but it sounds like the real action took place backstage during the tapings.

Tuesday nights reports about a backstage fight between Sin Cara and Simon Gotch hit the internet and according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the fight was a “one-sided destruction” in favor of Sin Cara. At this point what started the brawl is unknown but it was reported by PWInsider that the brawl took place in catering.

Now that Raw and SmackDown are separate brands once again WWE is bringing back some familiar pay-per-views. One of the pay-per-views that will be returning is Backlash which will take place from the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, VA on September 11th.

The pre-sale for WWE Backlash tickets will begin on July 27th and tickets will be on sale to the general public starting on July 30th. On WWE’s website Dean Ambrose, AJ Styles, Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton, The Miz and more are being advertised for the event so it looks like it will likely be a SmackDown exclusive event.

It was also recently reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE is considering bringing back squash matches as a way to get new talent over.

  1. As a kid watching WWF in the 80s and early 90s, I loved the squash matches on Superstars. There was nothing more satisfying than watch Demolition come out, make a meal out of Barry Horrowitz and Steve Lombardi, and call it a night. These matches made the winners looks appear almost super-human while making the occasional superstar-vs-superstar match-up even more special.
