John Cena made a surprise return Sunday night at WrestleMania 32 when he came out to save The Rock from being torn apart at the hands of The Wyatt Family. Following his appearance at WrestleMania 32, John Cena made an appearance on Wednesday night’s episode of Conan to talk about Mania and his new show “American Grit.” Cena talked about how the crowd usually hates him and then he mentioned how they went crazy for his return when he saved The Rock.
Conan O’Brien asked Cena if he likes it when a crowd turns on him and he said that he just likes it when the audience is excited. Conan says he wouldn’t be happy if a crowd was just booing him and then he brought up how John Cena likes it when fans sing “John Cena sucks.” Cena says it’s actually quite liberating and then he offered to teach the crowd how to sing it. Cena then went on to lead the crowd in a sing a long and then everyone clapped and cheered when it was done.
Whether you like him or not, you’ve got to respect the fact that John Cena is able to have fun with all the hate that comes his way. There aren’t too many people that would encourage a live studio audience to tell them they suck.
Rumor has it that John Cena won’t be making a full time return to the ring May or June, but if you’re really jonesing for a Cena fix you can catch him on “American Grit” April 14 on FOX.
