This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite went head to head with NXT and the show featured two Blood and Guts matches. The women’s match was the first Blood and Guts match of the night and the match saw Queen Aminata, The Brawling Birds (Alex Windsor & Jamie Hayter), Willow Nightingale & Wrathlander (Harley Cameron & Kris Statlander) pick up a win over Divine Dominion (Lena Kross & Megan Bayne), Persephone & Triangle Of Madness (Julia Hart, Skye Blue & Thekla).
At one point during the match Skye Blue pulled out a backpack full of broken glass and LEGOs which she dumped onto the mat. The commentary team then referred to the LEGOs as “toy bricks.”
Bryan Alvarez recently claimed in Wrestling Observer Radio that the word “LEGO” is now banned from AEW TV when he said, “So apparently they can no longer use the word LEGOss. Yup, on AEW television.”
LEGOs can inflict some serious pain during a wrestling match if used properly, but it appears that AEW will be referring to them as “toy bricks” if they are ever used again in the future.
Blood and Guts matches are brutal to say the least, but luckily no one was hurt on Wednesday night as Alvarez reported there were no injuries when he wrote, “It appears everyone in both Blood and Guts matches are OK. There was concern about Darby’s tooth after, of all things, his own knee hit his face on a Michinoku driver bump, but turned out he was OK.”
Which match do you think stole the show on Wednesday night? Sound off in the comments below.
