Earlier this week PWInsider reported that Bruce Prichard is expected to retire from his role as Executive Director – Creative Writing & Talent (CWT) following WrestleMania 43. Prichard will no longer be with the company full-time, but the expectation is he will still be working from home as a consultant for the company.

With Bruce Prichard set to step away from a major position with WWE everyone has been wondering who his replacement will be and PWInsider is now reporting that the current plan is for WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels to take over Prichard’s role with the company.

Currently Shawn Michaels works as the WWE NXT and Senior Vice President of Talent Development and Creative. Michaels took on the role in 2021 and is obviously close with current WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H. It’s being said that a succession plan has been in place for some time now, and Michaels will start preparing to take on Prichard’s role in the months ahead.

Shawn Michaels is considered by many to be one of the greatest in-ring performers in the history of WWE and he was lucky enough to have a long run with the company that included 3 WWE Championship wins, a World Heavyweight Championship win and many other accolades. He officially retired from in-ring competition in 2010, but later returned for the ring for one more match when DX teamed up to face the Brothers of Destruction in 2018.

As of this writing there’s currently no word on who could be taking over Shawn Michaels’ current role with NXT once he moves on to the main roster.

Stay tuned for updates.
