There have been a number of noteworthy WWE departures over the last few years. However, quite a few names have also made their way back to the company. Eric Young has been released from WWE twice since 2020, but it was recently reported that the former TNA Wrestling World Champion returned to WWE back in July and has been working a coach ever since.
Fightful Select is reporting that they were told Eric Young and Triple H have long maintained a great relationship. It was also noted that Triple H made it clear Eric Young would have a job in WWE whenever he wanted to return.
Eric Young first signed with WWE in 2016 and he went on to become the leader of the Sanity stable in NXT. In April of 2018, Sanity, minus Nikki Cross, were called up to SmackDown, but the group’s run on the main roster was rocky at best. A year later Young was separated from Sanity when he was drafted to Raw in April of 2019. He was later released in April of 2020.
Following his released from WWE, Young returned to TNA Wrestling in 2020, but later signed a new deal with WWE in 2022. However, Young never appeared on TV during his second run as Vince McMahon returned to the company and Young requested his release in 2023 because he refused to work with the former Chairman of the Board.
Young then returned to TNA Wrestling in the summer of 2023, but recently finished up with the company a few months ago.
