It’s always unfortunate when a wrestler is sidelined, and a few weeks ago it was announced that Mason Rook was not medically cleared to compete. Rook was originally set to challenge Grayson Waller for the NXT Championship that day, but he was pulled from the big title match and has not returned to the ring since the announcement was made.

While talking about Mason Rook’s status on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez noted that Rook is dealing with something that could be pretty serious, and he could be sidelined for a very long time.

“Whatever’s going on with Mason Rook I have been told could be pretty serious, but I don’t know what it is. I’ve just been told he could be out a long time. Could be a very long time. So, no one seems to really be talking about what the issue is, but whatever it is, it’s a real issue and he could be out like a long time. So all the best to him as well. That’s all I know about that.”

Mason Rook made his debut with WWE earlier this year when he appeared on the April 28 episode of NXT. He then went on to make his in-ring debut for the company on the May 19 episode when he teamed with Kam Hendrix to defeat Myles Borne & Tony D’Angelo. In recent months he has been regularly featured on NXT.

Stay tuned for updates.
