The summer has been full of big events for wrestling fans to enjoy, and last weekend the stars of Total Nonstop Action stepped into the spotlight when Lockdown aired live from the Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago, Illinois. Mustafa Ali successfully defeated Jason Hotch to become the new TNA Wrestling International Champion at Lockdown, but it looks like Ali will be sidelined for some time due to injury.

Earlier this week Mustafa Ali revealed that he suffered a punctured lung and broken ribs at Lockdown when he posted the following:

“At #TNALockdown I unfortunately suffered a punctured lung and fractured ribs.

I will be back.
@ThisIsTNA is mine.”

Today Mustafa Ali announced that he will not be able to compete at his upcoming scheduled appearances for ACW in Australia and Community Pro Wrestling in Scotland due to the injury.

“Unfortunately, I will not be able to compete for ACW in Melbourne, Australia and for Community Pro Wrestling in Glasgow, Scotland in September.

My sincere apologies. Hope to make it up to everyone soon.”

At this point in time there’s no word on how long Mustafa Ali will be out of action, or if TNA Wrestling is considering stripping him of the International Championship.

Stay tuned for updates.
