Current AEW Champion Injured Ahead Of All In

Right now the stars of All Elite Wrestling are overseas as all eyes are looking ahead to the big All In pay-per-view at Wembley Stadium on Sunday. Multiple titles will be defended, but it seems that one champion is going into the show hurt.

Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that current AEW Women’s Champion Willow Nightingale is dealing with a hand injury, but is expected to work All In at Wembley this weekend. Alvarez wrote, “Willow’s hand injury is said to be legitimate but she is expected to be able to work the show this weekend.”

During this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Mercedes Mone attacked Willow Nightingale backstage. Nightingale was seen favoring her hand as Mercedes focused on attacking it. Originally the injury was believed to be part of their storyline, but Bryan Alvarez has confirmed that Nightingale’s hand injury is legitimate.

Willow Nightingale won the AEW Women’s Championship last month at the Redemption pay-per-view when she defeated Thekla to become the new champion. Mercedes Mone secured a title shot at All In when she won the Owen Hart Cup. As of this writing Willow Nightingale vs. Mercedes Mone for the AEW Women’s Championship is still expected to take place at All In.

Stay tuned for updates.
