Currently Tama Tonga & Talla Tonga are the WWE Tag Team Champions on SmackDown while Logan Paul & Bron Breakker are the World Tag Team Champions on Raw. Unfortunately for both teams there is a lack of challengers on their respective brands.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reports that the tag team division is set for a refresh. It’s being said that the company is refocusing on a few fresh teams while other pairings continue to linger in peril.
A source with knowledge of the situation noted that the pairing of Shinsuke Nakamura and Hiromu Takahashi is being positioned up front as challengers on SmackDown, and Fraxiom is also expected to receive more TV time.
On the Monday Night Raw side a source noted that finding challengers for World Tag Team Champions The Vision has been the topic of an internal debate. The Street Profits are currently off TV due to Montez Ford celebrating the birth of his son, and Los Americanos are expected to be off TV until after TripleMania.
There has been talk of Ethan Page and Rusev being more prominently featured in the tag team division. However, there are some in the company who don’t want either talent getting lost in the division, which has made the idea of elevating their pairing more of a discussion rather than a solid direction.
Although the Creed Brothers returned to TV on Main Event, it’s being said that they have not been mentioned internally as potential challengers for The Vision’s World Tag Team Championship.
