SummerSlam has come and gone, but unfortunately at least one top star suffered an injury during the event. The Bella Twins teamed up with Paige to face Fatal Influence in a match that saw Fatal Influence pick up the win. Brie Bella unfortunately suffered an injury during the match, and she later confirmed that her scapula is broken.
During a recent episode of the Nikki & Brie Show, Brie Bella shared an update on her status and noted that she will not be undergoing surgery for her broken scapula. She did confirm that she will be starting physical therapy in two weeks, and she could be out for three to six months.
“He [the orthopedic surgeon] was like, ‘You know, it’s really hard to break your scapula. No one does surgery on scapulas. If you really want it, there is one doctor that can do it, but honestly, it’s like breaking your ribs in a way. You just wait until they slowly heal.’
And so that’s what I have to do. I know I have to get x-rays every two weeks to make sure I am healing. I don’t start PT for another two weeks, so they really want me to be bedridden. From there, I’m out for three to six months. So it all depends how my scapula heals.”
