Over the last few weeks Nick Aldis found himself engaged in a heated rivalry with Gunther, which led to Aldis returning to the squared circle to face The Ring General at SummerSlam in Minneapolis. Aldis put up a good fight, but unfortunately when it was all said and done he was defeated by Gunther. Now that Nick Aldis has returned to the ring many fans are wondering if we could see him wrestle more in WWE moving forward.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is told that internally the belief is Nick Aldis will wrestle again following his performance at SummerSlam.
One source noted that Aldis might not get to wrestle again until 2027. The source added that there are a number of people backstage who believe Nick Aldis is as talented, if not more talented than several of WWE’s regular performers on television, and would like to see him have a significant in-ring run with the company.
Ahead of SummerSlam, Nick Aldis agreed to give up his role as SmackDown General Manager when he signed the contract for his match with Gunther. However, Triple H later confirmed that Aldis has been reinstated, so he will continue to act as the SmackDown General Manager moving forward.
