The WWE roster is constantly changing and there’s no denying that some surprising names have parted ways with the company over the last few months. Sheamus had been with WWE for over 20 years, but the former WWE Champion is set to say goodbye to the compamny sooner than later.
Fightful Select reports that Sheamus rejected a new restructured deal with WWE and opted to leave the company instead. It was also noted that it wasn’t presented as an ultimatum like some of the other deals.
According to the report Sheamus is still currently under contract with WWE, and he will become a free agent on October 1st. The circumstances regarding his free agency date aren’t clear, but it was noted that it would match up with The Celtic Warrior having a 90 day termination period after he rejected the restructured deal.
Sheamus last competed in a WWE ring when he appeared on the 12/17/25 episode of Monday Night Raw. He teamed with John Cena & Rey Mysterio to defeat the team of Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor & JD McDonah. The match also happened to be John Cena’s last match on Raw.
As of this writing it’s not clear what Sheamus plans to do next following his WWE departure, so it will be interesting to see where he ends up in the near future.
