CM Punk has been off TV since April and a number of rumors regarding his status with WWE have been making the rounds in recent weeks. A few days ago it was reported that there are minor issues between Punk and WWE which can be traced back to Punk dropping the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania, but now a conflicting report has emerged.

TRNBCKL is reporting that sources have confirmed as of recent weeks they haven’t heard of any backstage heat between CM Punk and WWE following WrestleMania 42.

It was also noted that they haven’t heard anything that would suggest rumors of Punk being asked to take a pay cut are true, or that the idea of a pay cut was even offered at all. It’s being said that WWE knows CM Punk’s worth and what he brings to the table as a main event player. Punk is one of the top stars in WWE and his status is not expected to change.

According to the report CM Punk was more than happy to drop the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns in the night 2 main event of WrestleMania 42. Original plans for WrestleMania 42 always had Roman Reigns walking out with the gold.

Regarding CM Punk’s rumored feud with Cody Rhodes, it’s being reported that it has been planned to take place for some time. Cody Rhodes is set to challenge Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Championship on Raw in Chicago tonight, and CM Punk’s return has been rumored for the show for weeks now.
